Obituary: Robert F. Kuzma

Robert retired from Commonwealth Edison after 40 years of service.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Robert F. Kuzma

Robert F. Kuzma passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Lightways Hospice. He was born on December 20, 1931, in Joliet to the late William and Catherine (Gasperich) Kuzma.

A lifelong resident of Joliet, Robert graduated from St. Joseph Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School (1949). He attended Joliet Junior College before serving in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the 27th Infantry Regiment 25th Division.

Robert married Catherine Larkin at St. Raymond's Cathedral in 1955. Together they raised 5 children. Longtime member of St. Paul the Apostle, St. John KSKJ, and VFW Cantigny Post #367. Robert retired from Commonwealth Edison after 40 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Kuzma; his beloved wife, Catherine Ann: brother, William J. Kuzma in infancy; and his nephew, Joseph Adamic.

Surviving are his children, Robert (Lilli), Jean, Jane (Dan) Fahrner, William, and Margaret (Keith) Warning. Also, 6 grandsons and one great-granddaughter; sister, Joan Adamic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Robert Kuzma will be Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd), Joliet. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, December 30, 2025, with prayers at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Parish, 18 N. Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet. Interment will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Kuzma's name can be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet.
