Back To School: New Lenox 2021-22 School Calendar

NEW LENOX, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in New Lenox, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in New Lenox School District 122, Lincoln-Way School District 210 and Providence Catholic High School.

The first day of school for most students in New Lenox is Aug. 18.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in New Lenox.

The latest mask policy for D122 was posted to its website July 30. It states: "In accordance with CDC guidance, NLSD 122 recommends indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. While local and/or District rates remain low, moderate, or substantial, NLSD 122 will not require universal masking. An increase in COVID-19 transmission rates at the local and/or district level may result in increased mitigation practices such as required mask use."

The latest mask policy for D210 was posted to its website July 30. It states: "The CDC recommends that masks be worn by all individuals (age 2 and older) who are not fully vaccinated. Lincoln-Way District 210 is supportive of an individual who continues to wear a face mask in any setting. No assumptions or judgement will be made against those individuals who are vaccine eligible, but continue to wear a mask."

The latest mask policy for Providence Catholic High School has been set by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet. It states: "Fully vaccinated individuals do not have to wear a mask indoors or outdoors. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated — including children younger than 12, who are not yet eligible for vaccination — are recommended to wear masks. Staff and students will not be required to provide their vaccination status. Parents will decide whether their children will wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. All parents will be required to sign a 'Mask Use' form."
