Fake Prescription
Katie Young, 27, of the 600 block of Oxford, New Lenox, was charged with possessing a controlled substance and fraud, according to a New Lenox police report. Police were called at about 8:01 p.m. to Walgreens, located in the 400 block of Nelson. Young is accused of picking up a controlled substance using a fake prescription. She was taken to Will County jail.
DUI & Speeding Stop
Christopher Rayson, 29, of the 300 block of Sunset, New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance, speeding and failing to signal, according to a report. Police spotted a vehicle at about 1:08 a.m. in the 300 block of Sunset that was speeding. During a traffic stop, police determined that the driver, Rayson, was under the influence. He posted bond and was released.
TUESDAY, AUG. 20
About $2,000 worth of bad checks were passed at Walmart, located in the 500 block of East Route 30, according to a report. The fraud was reported at about 11:37 p.m. Walmart staff do not know who used the bogus checks.
