Chalk Walk Returns To Village Commons

Residents can create art on the sidewalks July 31.

NEW LENOX, IL — Chalk Walk is scheduled to return to the Village Commons, located on Veterans Parkway in New Lenox, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 31. The event offers the opportunity to create a masterpiece in the Village Commons with sidewalk chalk. Admission to the event is free.

This event is open to everyone, including families, students, professional artists, aspiring artists and all who are interested in art. Attendees can choose to stroll through the Commons and view the art being created.

Artists must register for a space. Registration is free. The Village recommends registering in advance, as spaces are limited; however, if spaces are still available on the day of the event, those interested can registration that day. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories.

Parking is available in the south lot of the Village Hall and at Trinity Services. Parking will be available at Old Plank Trail Community Bank after 1 p.m. The Villages asks attendees not to use the New Lenox Public Library District parking lot, as the library will be open July 31.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale from the concession stand courtesy of the New Lenox Community Park District.
