Christmas In The Commons Gets New Lenox In Holiday Spirit: Video
The Village of New Lenox on Friday kicked off Christmas in the Commons. The annual event features activities each weekend through Dec. 19.

NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox got the holiday season started Friday with the first night of Christmas in the Commons, which runs each weekend through Dec. 19.
Attendees watched the ceremonial lighting of the decorations throughout The Commons to get things going. They also had the opportunity to visit with Santa, ride in a horse-drawn carriage, gets some laps on the ice skating rink and participate in a "snowball fight" that pitted children against New Lenox first responders.

- Visits with Santa's reindeer.
- And the start of the Village's Gingerbread House Contest.
