Driver In Fatal Crash Charged With DUI: New Lenox PD

The crash happened on Route 30 near Aldi Sunday around 8 p.m.

NEW LENOX, IL — A driver in a two-car crash that resulted in the death of an 80-year-old New Lenox woman has been charged with driving under the influence, New Lenox police said Tuesday.

The crash happened at Route 30 and Cooper Road around 8 p.m. Sunday. An investigation is ongoing, but initial indicators show the woman was eastbound on Route 30 at the 300 block of Rte. 30, attempting to turn left (north) near Aldi, New Lenox Police Chief Louis Alessandrini said. The man—identified as Bradley A. Nichols-McCutchan, 34, of New Lenox—was westbound.

Both drivers were taken to Silver Cross Hospital, where June J. Sullivan died just before 9 p.m.

Nichols-McCutchan has been charged with driving under the influence, Alessandrini said.

The crash remains under investigation. Additional charges could be forthcoming, pending the investigation and toxicological results.
