Giving a false name in a traffic stop ends in obstruction of justice arrest

Kyle Ballard, 19, of the 2100 block of Sanford Avenue, was arrested for obstruction of justice and an in-state warrant on a misdemeanor charge. According to the report, Ballard was a passenger in a suspicious car at Cooper Road and Lincoln Highway.

When asked to identify himself, police say Ballard initially gave a false name because he feared there was a warrant out for his arrest. When his true identity was revealed, Ballard was arrested for the in-state warrant, and police added obstruction of justice to the list. He was taken to Will County jail, where bond was set at $10,000.

Paul Emerick, 59, Joliet, was arrested for disorderly conduct after a disturbance in the cafeteria at Silver Cross Hospital, in the 1900 block of Silver Cross Boulevard. He was released on bond.

Retail theft

Anthony Koris, 32, Manhattan, was arrested for retail theft after an incident at Walmart, in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Highway. According to the report, he attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise.
