Hope's Kitchen Sees 30 Percent Boost in Business

In its fifth day of a week-long grand reopening, Hope's Kitchen, a life skills venture for students of Hopewell Academies, saw a 30 percent boost in business.

The restaurant located at 138 E. Francis Road, is part of Hopewell Academies, a private therapeutic day school that provides educational, therapeutic and transition services to special needs students ages 12-21. The restaurant is for older students in the program, said Chad Kollross, director at Hopewell Academies, 1352 N. Cedar Road.

Kollross said, "We had a huge week. We had a lot of people ask about the school. This was the first time we served Silver Cross Hospital." A group there ordered box lunches. And the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce ordered box lunches too.

The community  has been very responsive and upbeat about the restaurant that serves so much more than food, he said.

In the video, Chad Kolross, director of Hopewell Academies, speaks out about the success of Hope's Kitchen.
