IDOT Crews Removing Litter Along I-80
The cleanup scheduled for the week of April 18 will not require lane closures, but IDOT is asking motorists to be aware of crews along I-80.
NEW LENOX, IL — Motorists on Interstate 80 should be aware of crews working to clean up litter along the expressway, according to a news release from the Illinois Department of Transportation. Cleanup was scheduled to begin Monday and is expected to continue throughout the week, weather permitting.
Cleanup crews will be on I-80 from 80th Avenue to Parker Road, which runs through parts of Frankfort, Mokena and New Lenox.
Lane closures will not be required for the cleanup, IDOT said, but equipment and workers may be present on the shoulder. Motorists are asked to remain alert, slow down, move over and give maintenance teams space to work.
