Joliet, Bolingbrook Men Caught With Stolen Car, Drugs: New Lenox PD
The men were found with the car outside Ross and TJ Maxx on Tuesday evening, police said.
NEW LENOX, IL — Two men face charges after being found with a stolen car and drugs in New Lenox Nov. 19, according to police reports. Both men also had active warrants in other counties, police said.
New Lenox police on Tuesday were notified by the Will County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday that a stolen vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 30 from Cedar Road. An officer found the vehicle near Ross and TJ Maxx, with one man in the driver's seat. Police ordered the man—later identified as Denzel McCullum, 27, of Joliet—out of the car and attempted to take him into custody. McCullum resisted arrest, and refused to comply with police commands, according to the report.
He was eventually taken into custody with the assistance of a Will County deputy. When taken into custody, officers observed a pipe used to consume narcotics in his possession, police said. McCullum also had active arrest warrants from both DuPage and Naperville counties.

Police said officers learned there was a second man—identified as Carlos Miller, 39, of Bolingbrook—in the vehicle prior to their arrival, who fled on foot near White Castle. Officers found him and attempted to take him into custody.
According to police, Miller fled on foot, and was taken into custody after tripping over a curb.

Police said he was in possession a bag of pills, which later field tested positive for the presumptive presence of fentanyl. Miller also had active arrest warrants from both Will and Grundy counties.
McCullum was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.

Both men were treated at Silver Cross Hospital for minor injuries before being transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
