Lincoln-Way Central JROTC Cadets In Academic Bowl Championship
The LW Central team is just one of 16 to make the championship, which will be held June 24-28 in Washington, D.C.

NEW LENOX, IL — Members of the Lincoln-Way Central High School JROTC will be headed to Washington, D.C., this summer to compete in the 2022 U.S. Air Force JROTC Academic Bowl Championship, according to a new release from Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210.
The Lincoln-Way Central cadets will be represented in the nation's capitol by junior Maxwell Davis, and sophomores Rose Reitz, Tyler Simons and Trey Simons. Freshmen Alex Vilis and Liam Kelliher will serve as alternates.
Lincoln-Way Central High School JROTC team earned top scores out of the 582 Air Force JROTC academic teams that competed in two phases of online testing for the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl. Cadets were tested on their knowledge of core curriculum, including math, science and language arts, as well as current events, citizenship, leadership skills and financial literacy.

The Lincoln-Way Central team is one of only 16 Air Force JROTC Academic Bowl teams in the nation to advance to the final competition, and the only team from Illinois in the championship round.
The JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl is sponsored by the U.S. Air Force JROTC and is conducted by the College Options Foundation. The JROTC Academic Bowl Championship will be held at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
