Lincoln-Way D210 To Offer Welding Classes For Adults

The classes will be beginner-friendly and project-based.

FRANKFORT, IL — Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 this coming fall and winter will offer adult welding classes, the district said in a release.

Four classes will be offered, and every class is at an introductory level with no experience necessary.

Each class costs $150 and includes three sessions that will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on the designated days. The classes are project-based and will introduce participants to multiple processes and techniques.

Wednesdays Nov. 6, 13, 20 SMAW / OFC (Stick and Torch)

Tuesdays - Dec. 3, 10, 17 SMAW / GMAW (Stick and MIG)

Thursdays - Jan. 9, 16, 23 SMAW/ GTAW/ OFW (Stick and TIG)

Tuesdays - Jan. 28, Feb. 4, 11 SMAW / Brazing/ soldering (Stick and Brazing)

About the instructor: With over 25 years of experience, Daymon Gast has been teaching welding at Lincoln-Way for 21 years. Recently he was the recipient of the 2020 $36,000 grand prize grant of Miller Electric’s “Who’s Building You Mentor of the Year”. He coached the 2022 IL SkillsUSA State Champions and National SkillsUSA participants in Atlanta, GA in Welding Fabrication, 2021 Lowes Home Improvement Welding $15,000 grant money recipient. An American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspector, Certified Welder, and Certified Weld Instructor, JJC Dual Credit and former JJC Adjunct College Welding instructor. Daymon loves sharing his passion for welding with others.
