Ali Salamah, 25, will be charged in the Tuesday incident at the Silver Cross campus, New Lenox Police said Thursday.

NEW LENOX, IL — A warrant has been issued for the Lockport man accused of carjacking a woman outside Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital on Tuesday.

Ali Salamah, 25, of Lockport will face charges of vehicular hijacking, robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, and theft, New Lenox Police Chief Louis Alessandrini said Thursday. All are felonies. The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges Thursday afternoon.

Police Tuesday said that Salamah, who was a patient at the Silver Cross Hospital emergency department early Tuesday, fled from the hospital around 8 a.m. Salamah, wearing only a hospital gown, then demanded a woman's keys and stole her car, Alessandrini previously said.
