Man, 22, Punched Cop, Spat In Paramedic's Face: New Lenox PD
Police first encountered the man on Oct. 5, when he was fighting with his father in the parking lot of Waffles Kafe, according to reports.

NEW LENOX, IL — A 22-year-old man faces aggravated battery charges after New Lenox police say he punched a police officer and spat in the face of a paramedic.
On Oct. 5, at approximately 1:30 p.m. police were called to Waffles Kafe, 411 E. Lincoln Highway, for a disturbance in the parking lot between two men.
According to police, officers learned that the disturbance was between a father and his 22-year-old son, identified as James Rossow Jr. During the investigation, Rossow Jr. punched one of the officers in the face with a closed fist, police said. He was taken into custody without incident. Paramedics were called, and Rossow Jr. was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for suspicion of intoxication. On the way to the hospital, Rossow Jr. spat in the face of a paramedic, police said. Rossow Jr. was later released from the hospital without charges being filed.

On Oct. 7 at 5:30 a.m., police found Rossow Jr. sleeping inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway, and took him into custody.
Rossow Jr., who was homeless at the time of his arrest, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery for the allegations that he punched the officer and spit at the paramedic, along with a charge of resisting arrest.

He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
