Man Busted in Traffic Stop for Cocaine, DUI

A stop for speeding results in arrest for suspected cocaine.

A 42-year-old Hickory Hills man was arrested for possession of suspected cocaine and DUI after a traffic stop about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 9 at Gougar and Francis Roads.

According to the New Lenox police report, Mark Cerda was pulled over for speeding and failure to yield. An investigation revealed that Cerda had been drinking. Police also discovered that he was in possession of a substance suspected to be cocaine.

Cerda was taken to Will County jail. Records there show that he was booked on pending charges for possession of cocaine, resisting a peace officer and DUI.

No bond information was available.
