Man Falls Asleep, Crashes Car Into New Lenox Breakfast Spot: NLPD
The crash happened Wednesday evening at Country Charm, police said. A Mokena man allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel.

NEW LENOX, IL â A Mokena man fell asleep behind the wheel, then crashed his car into a New Lenox restaurant Wednesday evening, police said.
Police were called at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday to Country Charm, 101 Lincolnway Drive. Officials say a 23-year-old driver was eastbound on Route 30 when he fell asleep. The vehicle crossed over westbound lanes of traffic, then hit the building, New Lenox Police Chief Louis Alessandrini said.
The driver was alone in the vehicle. He was extricated by first responders and taken to Silver Cross Hospital. The extent of his injuries is not known.

The building sustained some structural damage, Alessandrini said. The restaurant closes at 3 p.m. daily. No other injuries were reported.
