In Memoriam: Devout St. Jude Parishioner, Seamstress Marie Swanson, 94

Marie Ann Swanson was a longtime member of St. Jude Church in New Lenox and lived in Frankfort at the time of her death April 28.

NEW LENOX, IL — Longtime resident of New Lenox and present Frankfort resident Marie Ann Swanson died April 28 at her Frankfort home. She was 94 years old.

Swanson was born Feb. 16, 1930. She is survived by her loving family, children, Don (Michelle) Swanson, Laura (Bill) Christiansen, grandchildren, Jennifer (Eddie) Gage, Lisa (Chris Bettis) Swanson, Erik Christiansen, Kelsey (Jonathan) Schildwachter, great grandchildren Ravin Chappa, Danika Chappa, Abigail Gage, Lily Gage, Daisy Gage, Emma Schildwachter, sister Donna Martino, dearest brother-in-law Ed Selvas.

Swanson was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Rose Martino (Albert), husband Richard (Swede) Swanson, beloved son Bruce, brother John Martino, sister Barbara Selvas, and grandson Anthony Swanson.

Marie attended Chaney-Monge School and St. Francis Academy. She was an avid reader and seamstress; a member of St. Jude Church of New Lenox, and she cherished her time with her grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Tuesday May 7, from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass 11 a.m. at St. Jude Church, 241 W. Second Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451.
