In Memoriam: New Lenox Woman, 86, Raised Family On Farm, Loved To Host

Dolores Mae Oram died May 13. She served as president of Maplewood Cemetery and was a longtime volunteer for Silver Cross Childerguild.

NEW LENOX, IL — Dolores Mae Oram (née Davis) age 86, of New Lenox, died peacefully on May 13, at her home with her family by her side.

"Dee" is survived by her two sons Don (Brenda) Oram, Keith Oram, daughter Cindy (Tony) Orsini, her grandchildren Ashton, Marissa (Josh), Kailee, Kelson (Sarah) and Mason Oram, Jake Kestel and Hank (Kayla) Oram, great-grandchildren Owen and Lucy, her brothers Richard (Margie) Davis, Dan Davis and sister Judy (Terry) Jacobs. Preceded in death by her loving husband Bob Oram, parents Curtis and Bernice Davis, daughter Suzanne Oram, granddaughters Arielle Oram and Corinne Kestel, daughter-in-law Sue Oram and sister-in -law Linda Davis.

Oram was born and raised in Joliet and a graduate of Joliet Township High School. Bob and Dee married on July 6, 1958 and raised their children on the family farm in New Lenox. Oram was a busy homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping and spending time with her beloved furry companions Veronica and Audrey. She served as President of Maplewood Cemetery for 25 years and a longtime volunteer for Silver Cross Childerguild. Dee loved visiting with family and friends at her and Bobs lake house in Lake Tomahawk, WI; she was the ultimate hostess.

A loving wife, devoted mom and grandmother, big sister, dear friend and the heart and soul of the family; she will be missed beyond words. A memorial visitation will be Wednesday May 22, from 2 p.m. til time of Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St. Manhattan. Interment of Cremains will be at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox.
