Morris Man, 70, Indicted In Fiery Crash That Killed Woman And Grandson
The crash happened March 19, 2023 at Wilmington-Peotone Road and Route 45. Barbara Stoll and her grandson Tyler were killed.

WILL COUNTY — A Will County grand jury on Thursday indicted a 70-year-old Morris man in connection with a 2023 crash that killed a Manteno woman and her grandson, court records show.
A warrant has been issued for Roy Pflugradt, with charges including six counts of reckless homicide and two counts of aggravated reckless driving, according to records. The charges follow an investigation by Illinois State Police.
Pflugradt is alleged to have been driving a Chevy Impala involved in the fiery crash at Wilmington-Peotone Road and Route 45 on March 19, 2023. According to court documents, Pflugradt was traveling eastbound faster than 55 mph, when he ran a stop sign on Wilmington-Peotone Road. Three cars were involved in the crash, and one caught fire. Two were killed, and two injured.

Killed in the crash were Barbara Stoll, 67, of Manteno, and her grandson Tyler Stoll, 22, of Bourbonnais. Barbara Stoll had been driving Tyler to his job at Jewel-Osco in New Lenox at the time of the crash, family said.
Pflugradt was not yet in custody Thursday afternoon, court records showed.

Tyler Stoll worked at the Nelson Road location of Jewel-Osco, 475 Nelson Road. He worked to fulfill curbside orders. Community members, friends, and customers remembered him for his smiling, friendly, and helpful nature.
Coworkers started a GoFundMe in Tyler's memory, with his father as the beneficiary.
A separate GoFundMe was established in Barbara's memory.
