Names In the News: Bill Pender Replaces Gillooley on School Board

Bill Pender, a 40-year-old assistant principal at Joliet Catholic Academy in Joliet, was named July 12 to the Board of Education. He was one of eight candidates seeking to fill the vacancy left last month by Susan Gillooley, former vice president of the board.

Pender and his family, including three children in the district, brings a significant background in education and school administration to the table. He has a bachelor's in sociology, a master's in educational administration and an MBA in human resources.
