NL Park District Gets $4K Donation From Friends Of The Parks
The donation will be used to upgrade the facilities at the Outdoor Fitness Center and Sanctuary Golf Course.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Community Park District recently got a nice bonus from The New Lenox Friends of the Parks via a $4,000 donation to the park district during its board meeting Wednesday.
The New Lenox Friends of the Parks' mission is to "assist New Lenox area residents with creating healthy lifestyles through parks and recreation, promoting diverse recreation opportunities for all citizens, developing scholarship programs for struggling fellow citizens, and maintaining and improving the amenities that park properties provide," according to information provided by New Lenox Community Park District Recreation Supervisor Amy Maher, who also serves as liaison between NLCPD and Friends of the Parks.
"We're really excited about the partnership we have with the Friends of the Parks," Maher said. "They have been very generous to us and the community. We are excited about the updates we're going to be able to make to our Fitness Court and the Sanctuary Golf Course."

The NLCPD plans to use the donation to add security cameras at the Outdoor Fitness Center and to add new countertops in the clubhouse at Sanctuary Golf Course, Maher said.
The New Lenox Friends of the Parks was able to raise the money for the donation through its annual fundraising events, including the Running with Friends 5K and the MetaMucil 55+ Golf Outing, according to Maher.
