A former athletic secretary for Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox pleaded guilty to felony theft Wednesday, according to the Will County State's Attorney's office.

An Illinois State Police task force arrested five people from a fleeing vehicle when they stopped to get something to eat at a fast food restaurant early Saturday, investigators said. The vehicle had been spotted earlier drag racing at Ford City Shopping Center, according to news reports.

Man Stole Homewood Squad Car, Crashed It In Chicago Heights: HPD

A Homewood police patrol vehicle was stolen Monday night and eventually crashed in Chicago Heights, officials said.

Homewood and Chicago Ridge police began pursuing the vehicle at around 9:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Halsted Street and Ridge Road. By 10 p.m., police said the car was involved in a crash at State Street and Joe Orr Road in Chicago Heights where they were able to take a man into custody.
