Outside Mailboxes At New Lenox Post Office Sealed Off
Post office officials on Tuesday would say why the mailboxes were sealed shut or when they might be reopened to the public.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Post Office's outside mailboxes were sealed Tuesday, preventing residents from placing any outgoing mail in the boxes.
Patch reached out to the post office to find out why, but was told no one there could comment. A postal employee told Patch that the postmaster for the New Lenox Post Office was out Tuesday and would not be back in the office until Wednesday.
There was, therefore, no information provided as to what may have caused the mailboxes to be shut, or when residents could expect them to reopen.

One user on Facebook posted that an employee at the post office said the boxes were unsecured and not closing properly, and that new ones have been ordered. Again, the post office would not comment on this.
Patch will provide an update to the situation when New Lenox Post Office officials are able to respond to questions.
