Police Blotter: $5K in Boating Equipment Stolen

Also, a car burglary and damage to a pool. New Lenox police reports, July 6-8.

MONDAY, JULY 8

Car Burglary

The face to a car stereo was taken from an unlocked vehicle on the 2600 block of Southwind Drive. The amount of the loss was not reported.

Speeding

Phillip Abernathy, 24, of Joliet, was ticketed for speeding in the area of Haven Avenue and Warren Drive. Police discovered that he was driving on a suspended license and was wanted for a Cook County warrant. He was taken to Will County Jail for the warrant.

SUNDAY, JULY 7

Property Damage

Someone entered a yard in the 2400 block of Peregrine Drive and sliced the liner of the swimming pool.

Vandalism

Someone damaged an outdoor jumpy by cutting a hole in it. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Bobwhite Lane. The amount of damage was not reported.  

Car Burglary

Someone entered an unlocked car that was parked in the 1900 block of Silver Cross Boulevard and stole an iPod and wallet. The loss totaled $300.

FRIDAY, JULY 6

Revoked License

Police said they noticed an expired registration on a vehicle driven by Rogelio Soto, of Lockport, on Route 30. He was ticketed for the registration violation and for a revoked license.  

Theft

Someone stole several items, including two GPS units and boating equipment, from a boat in the 200 block of Joliet Highway. Police said the items were valued at more than $5,000.
