Police Blotter: Video Game Thief Caught, Fraud
Con artists bilk residents in two separate occasions.

THURSDAY, AUG. 2
Failure to Yield
Mark Drodwell, 55, of Oak Lawn, was stopped in his car on U.S. Route 30 and Marley Road. According to the report, he was noticed for failure to yield and pulled over. Police discovered that he was also driving on a suspended license. He was ticketed for both traffic violations and released.

Stolen Phone
Police say a man from the 200 block of W. Otto Drive filed a complaint that his telephone had been stolen.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 1
Man Nabbed for Attempting to Steal $450 Worth of Video Games
Mark Ranger, 29, of Montgomery, was charged with retail theft when he allegedly took video games off the shelf at Walmart, hid them in his backpack and left the store without paying for them. The games were valued at approximately $450. During the investigation, police discovered that Ranger was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court. He was taken to the Will County Jail where he posted a $2,000 bond.
Retail Theft
Police say a second complaint for retail theft was filed later Wednesday night by Walmart officials. Neither the merchandise nor the value of the items were included in the report. No arrests were made.
Bilked Out of $150
Police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Crown Fox Lane on a complaint that someone had deceived a man by tricking him into sending $150. Authorities are investigating the fraud complaint.
Three Traffic Tickets Issued
William Schubert, 54, of the 900 block of N. Marley Road, was stopped for speeding in the area of Cass and Washington streets. During the investigation, it was discovered that he was driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was ticketed and released.
Driving on a Suspended License
Vincent Caruso, 20, of Tinley Park, was driving in the area of U.S. Route 30 and Cedar Road while police were conducting a random registration check. It was discovered that he was driving with a suspended license. He was ticketed and released.
TUESDAY, JULY 31
Car Dented
Police were called Tuesday night to the 2300 block of Cattleman Drive. Someone complained that a car was dented.
MONDAY, JULY 30
Woman Discovers a Warrant Out for Her Arrest
Katie Hard, 29, of the 1100 block of Grandview Drive, turned herself into police when she discovered there was an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court. She posted bond and was released.
Caught with a Heavy Foot
Debra Perrie, 55, of Joliet, was issued a speeding ticket in the area of Cass and Washington streets. Police also discovered that she was driving on a suspended license. She posted bond and was released.
Fraud Complaint Filed
Police accepted a fraud complaint from a resident in the 1900 block of Tudor Lane. A man at the home told police that someone took his debit card and purchased $200 worth of unauthorized merchandise. Police are investigating the matter.
