Police Charge New Lenox Man With Dissemination of Child Pornography

NEW LENOX, — New Lenox police on Thursday arrested a man who they said was downloading and sharing images of child pornography, according to the New Lenox Police Department.
Police received a tip in February that Michael C. Murino, 41, of New Lenox, was using an online mobile app to download and share the child pornography, police said. The New Lenox Police Department Investigations Unit then began an investigation. Police obtaining a search warrant for Murino's residence and executed that warrant Thursday, according to police.
The Will County State’s Attorney’s High Technology Computer Crimes Unit assisted in searching Murino's electronic devices, which police said contained evidence of the child pornography.

Murino was charged with one count of felony dissemination of child pornography, according to police.
Murino was later taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. A bond hearing is scheduled for Friday.
