Santa Is Coming To Town With New Lenox Fire Protection District
Santa will be making the rounds through New Lenox subdivisions Saturday and again on Dec. 11.
NEW LENOX, IL — Santa is coming to New Lenox subdivisions beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday and again starting at 10 a.m. Dec. 11, and he's bringing along the New Lenox Fire Protection District as his special escort.
This will be the fifth year the New Lenox FPD and its union, New Lenox Professional Firefighters Local 5097, will put on the Santa is Coming to Town Parade, according to New Lenox FPD Public Information Officer Marisa Schrieber.
"Our union spearheads it. They volunteer their time to do this for a couple Saturdays every year," Schrieber said.

Santa will be walking along the parade route with a New Lenox FPD firetruck in tow, Schrieber said, so children and families will have a chance to greet the Jolly Old Elf as he makes his way through the neighborhoods.
"It's something that we really love to be able to provide to our residents as a thank you for everything throughout the year," Schrieber said.

Saturday's parade route starts at 10 a.m. in the Bristol Park subdivision. Then it's on to the Crystal Cove subdivision at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Windemere subdivision at approximately 11 a.m. and ending in the Whisper Creek subdivision at approximately 11:30 a.m.
On Dec. 11, Santa starts out in Walker Country Estates at 10 a.m., followed by Wildwood Estates at approximately 10:30 a.m., Aerohaven at approximately 11 a.m. and ending in Palmer Ranch at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Those wishing to catch a glimpse of Santa need not live in the subdivisions to do so, Schrieber said.
"We invite anyone who wants to come and hang out along the parade line to do so," Schrieber said.
New Lenox residents can put in a request to have Santa stop in their areas next year by sending an email to info@nlfire.com.
Residents can keep track of the parade progress by checking in with the New Lenox Professional Firefighters Local 5097 Facebook page.
