Spencer Crossing Fine Arts Festival Showcases Music and Art

The 5th and 6th graders from Spencer Crossing Intermediate School showcased their artistic side at a fine arts festival.

The annual Spencer Crossing Intermediate School Fine Arts Festival was flush with artistic talent.

The original creations of budding artists were exhibited May 15 at the school. From sketches and paintings to crafts and more, student artwork was displayed for parents and visitors.

Projects by Lincoln-Way High School students were exhibited as well, said Jenny Zimmerman, communication coordinator for New Lenox School District 122.

The ingredient that made this festival more special was a dash of junior high school input. Zimmerman said students from Liberty Junior High School acted as judges for the intermediate school submissions.

No art festival is complete without the symphonic meloodies by the Spencer Crossing band and orchestra. Zimmerman said numerous pieces were performed with the help of Principal Emily Schissler and Asst. Principal Amanda Novotny.
