Local Professionals Teach Brownies First Aid
Over 50 Junior Girl Scouts learned about the importance of first aid at a workshop held last weekend.

New Lenox is now a slightly safer place to be thanks to the Brownies in Jr. Girl Scout Troop 204.
On March 23, over 50 jr. scouts gathered at Liberty Jr. High to learn basic first aid skills, such as treating cuts, burns and sprains and caring for sunburn, insect bites, poison ivy and head injuries, TribLocal reports. A New Lenox police officer stopped by to discuss the importance of calling 911 in an emergency and a registered nurse was available to answer questions. Each Brownie also made her own first aid kit.
As a result of their training, all girls completed the requirements to earn their Brownie First Aid badge. They will also receive a Junior Aide Award for their involvement in the workshop.
