Thief Swipes Veterans Donation Bucket At Chicago Ridge Bar: Cops
Police have released a photo of a man they believe emptied a donation bucket for veterans at a Chicago Ridge bar Friday evening.
Over the past several years, Kathy McKinney, owner of Jessie's Tavern, 10425 S. Ridgeland, Chicago Ridge, has placed a bucket out where patrons can throw their spare change. The money she collects is donated to local veterans organizations. McKinney says the bar donates about $1,000 a year to help veterans.

Missing Steger 13-Year-Old Found, 1 Man Charged With Child Abduction
A missing 13-year-old is home safe after being found with two adult men, Chicago Heights police said.
According to police, the girl was last seen Tuesday night getting into a black pickup truck in Steger. From there, police tracked the girl's phone and found it was at an address in Chicago Heights.

A Chicago man is accused of hijacking a car at a Chicago Ridge gas station. Juan Macias, 23, appeared Tuesday before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on a felony charge of aggravated vehicular hijacking.

Around 50 supporters of off-duty Will County Sheriff's Deputy Edward Goewey came to the Will County Courthouse Monday morning in a show of support. A Dolton woman is accused of violating Scott's Law after an Illinois State Police vehicle was hit, injuring one trooper.
According to ISP, the trooper was helping a driver whose car had stopped on the right shoulder of Interstate 94 and 138th Street at around 6:53 p.m. Sunday. Officials said the vehicle was a "fully marked squad car" with emergency lights on.
