Time To Shine For LW Marching Band At Macy's Thanksgiving Parade
The Lincoln-Way Marching Band is participating in nationally televised parade Thursday.

NEW LENOX, IL — The Lincoln-Way Marching Band will have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving as the band is set to preform Thursday in one of the nation's most watched holiday events: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
About 200 students, along with chaperones and staff members, will be part of the experience, according to Lincoln-Way Marching Band Co-Director Chris Mroczek.
Aside from being in the spotlight during the parade, the students will get to experience a Broadway show, the Rockettes, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Top of the Rock Observatory, Mroczek said. Plus, the band will be treated to a buffet Thanksgiving dinner and a celebratory dinner cruise on the Hudson to close out the trip, Mroczek said.

"This experience has had a slow build for us as the initial invitation was postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic," Mroczek said. "It has been a long time coming, but we couldn’t be more excited that it is finally here. We have been working on this performance since about August, and these students have rehearsed about six days a week.
"This is a massive effort, and we just want to thank all of our supporters and the Lincoln-Way community," Mroczek said.
