Update: Traffic Delays In New Lenox At Laraway And Cedar Roads

Motorists are advised to avoid the area because of ongoing construction. The construction is expected to continue until around Thanksgiving.

NEW LENOX, IL — Motorists were advised Thursday to avoid the area of Laraway Road at Cedar Road because of ongoing construction that could cause traffic delays, according to Will County Director of Transportation, Jeff Ronaldson.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area during regular construction hours.

The construction is part of a project to widen the intersection at Cedar and Laraway Roads, Ronaldson said.

Once the project is complete, there will be additional turn lanes in each direction and a permanent traffic signal, Ronaldson said.

"It's going to be a substantial improvement," he said.

The project is expected to continue until around Thanksgiving, Ronaldson said, so motorists are advised to find alternate routes during the construction.
