Two New Lenox Teams Earn Youth Football Championship Titles

Jr. Warriors, Super Lightweight and Jr. Knights, Lightweight celebrate Super Bowl victories.

NEW LENOX, IL — Two teams from the New Lenox Youth Football Association celebrated season-high wins recently, as they captured the championship title for the Super Bowl.

The New Lenox Jr. Warriors Super Lightweight team, which included local players in grades first through third, secured a 18-6 Super Bowl win over the Tinley Park Bulldogs.

The New Lenox Jr. Knights Lightweight team, which featured local fourth and fifth graders, won their Super Bowl game 12-0 over the Tinley Park Bulldogs.

"I am incredibly proud of both teams securing a Super Bowl championships," said NLYFA Athletic Director Chad Barger.

"The effort these boys carried into their final games has paid off."

The series of games, which spanned two months, included teams from throughout the south Suburbs and northwest Indiana. Games were played by teams registered with the River Valley Youth Football League and intended for players to gain experience while developing their skills.

The Junior Knights and Junior Warriors offer football and cheerleading programs to more than 600 children from first to eighth grades. Registration for the 2025 season begins in January.
