The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest or charge is not an indication of guilt.


Jan. 17

  • Alycia Green, 45, of Joliet, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and retail theft. According to police reports, an officer was dispatched to CVS Pharmacy, 115 E. Maple St. The officer spoke with an employee and learned that Green had taken controlled substances from the store without permission or paying for them. Green was arrested and taken to the NLPD. Green was then taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

  • Brandon Russell, 29, of North Riverside, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a false ID. According to police reports, an officer was dispatched to Kee Firearms, 21660 S. Moni Drive, for a report of fraud. The officer met with the complainant and learned that Russell had tried to use a fraudulently purchased gift card to purchase a firearm. The officer met with Russell, who initially provided the officer with a fictitious name. Russell was arrested and found to be in possession of a firearm without the proper credentials. Russell was taken to the NLPD. Russell was then taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Jan. 21

  • Mark A. Borhauer, 37, of Elwood, was charged with DUI. According to police reports, an officer was dispatched to the area of Laraway Road and Schoolhouse Road for a report of a domestic. Upon arrival, the officer met with a woman who said that her ex-husband dropped her off in the parking lot, and that he was driving away. The officer performed a traffic stop on Borhauer and found that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Borhauer was arrested and taken to the NLPD. Borhauer posted bond and was released.
