Vietnam Moving Wall Coming To New Lenox
Plus, Veterans Day ceremony plans for the Village.

NEW LENOX, IL — A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is making its way to New Lenox in time for the Veterans Day holiday. The Vietnam Moving Wall will be on display at the American Legion Post 1977, 14414 W. Ford Drive in New Lenox, from Wednesday through Sunday.
The half-sized replica of the Vietnam Memorial is scheduled to begin staging at 7 a.m. Wednesday at The Village Commons. From there, the Patriot Guard of Illinois will assist the American Legion at 8 a.m. on an escort through Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood before returning to the American Legion at approximately 9 a.m.
Viewing for the Vietnam Moving Wall will be available from noon Wednesday through 11 a.m. Sunday.

Veterans Day ceremonies are scheduled to take place in The Village Commons starting at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Village teamed up with the Will County Veterans Assistance Commission to plan the activities, including a keynote presentation by former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn Thursday, and Portraits of a Soldier through Friday at the Village Hall, according to Village officials.
