What Did You Learn From Your Father?

In honor of Father's Day, Patch asked a prominent community member to reflect on the lessons taught by his father.  
     
New Lenox Deputy Police Chief Bob Pawlisz answered the question: What did you learn from your father?  
 
Recalling the wisdom of his father, who passed away in February 2012, Pawlisz talked about a man who loved his family. He owned a hardware store in Chicago. Six days a week, he'd leave home at 5:30 a.m. and return at 8 p.m.  
 
Pawlisz said his father worked hard to support the family. Mostly, though, the New Lenox police officer remembers that his father was always there when he needed him.
