Woman Left Kids, 2 and 4, Alone In Car To Play Slots: New Lenox PD
The kids were left in the car outside Rte 30 Liquors on Feb. 25, police said.
NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox woman was charged with endangering the life or health of a child after police said she left her kids in a car for nearly an hour while playing slots inside a liquor store, according to police.
Police were called Feb. 25 just after 9:30 p.m. to Rte 30 Liquors, 356 W. Maple St., for a report of two children left unattended in a car. The officer found children ages 2 and 4 in the car, with the engine off, police said.
The children's mother, identified as Cory Sexton, 36, of New Lenox, was found inside the business and had left the children in the vehicle, according to police reports.

A review of security video at the business indicated Sexton left the children unattended in the vehicle for 45 minutes, police said. The children were not harmed and did not require medical attention.
Sexton was taken into custody and transported to the New Lenox Police Department, where she was processed and released.
