Michael K. Brown, 22, of the 1000 block of West Catalpa, Chicago, was charged with DUI/Drugs June 3, just after 12:30 a.m., when police saw him speeding and swerving in the 8900 block of Milwaukee Avenue, according to the report.Â
The police officer who stopped his vehicle smelled the odor of burnt cannabis, and when Brown was asked for his driver's license, he handed over his entire wallet, police said. The officer had to ask Brown for his insurance card several times before he handed it over.
Police asked Brown and the passengers to step out of the vehicle so they could speak to them separately. When they asked Brown questions, he did not answer and stared into space, according to the report.Â

Police searched the vehicle and found a green leafy substance, suspect cannabis, smashed into the seat of the car, the report indicated. Due to the small amount and the state it was in, the officer could not collect it or field test it.Â
The officer again asked Brown questions, and he admitted smoking cannabis within a half-hour prior to the police stop, according to the report. He said he didn't drink alcohol, only Sprite; but when asked why he smelled like alcohol, he said it was because alcohol was everywhere.Â
