Applications are available for the 29th Annual Community Paint-A-Thon in Niles on Saturday Sept. 17, 2016. The community partnership is designed to paint the exterior of single-family homes owned and occupied by persons with limited financial resources, at least 60 years of age, a veteran at any age, or have a permanent disability, making them unable to do the work themselves, according to the village of Niles summer e-newslettter.
Catholic Charities serves as the Intake Agency and is responsible for screening applications, verifying income and determining financial eligibility.
Current homeowners insurance is required. Once a home is determined eligible, volunteer teams are matched to do the scraping, priming and painting of the house at no cost to the homeowner. If you or someone you know could benefit, please contact the Senior Center for an application at 847-588-8420.
