Car Stolen From Restaurant Parking Lot
The victim said he had the only key in his possession. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

A 24-year-old Itasca man reported that he parked his 1997 Honda sedan in the parking lot of an outlot restaurant in the 9100 block of Golf Road on May 16 around 11 p.m., and when he came out, it was gone. The victim said his vehicle is paid for, he had the only key, and he had no idea who might have taken it. Police entered it into a state theft database.

David Guzik, 57, of Park Ridge was charged with DUI May 19, just after 1:15 a.m., in the 7300 block of Dempster Street. Police said they observed him drive through a red light, and smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath. He told police he was coming from the city and had had one or two beers. He showed impairment on field sobriety tests, according to the report. His court date is June 19 at the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts. Â

Przemyslaw Lewandowski, 33, of Northbrook, was charged May 11 just after 3 a.m. with DUI, in the 8100 block of Milwaukee. Police said they observed him driving 25 mph in a 35 mph zone and swerve over the center line. According to the report, police smelled an odor of alcohol on his breath. They asked him to exit the vehicle, which he did, but was not willing to take field sobriety tests. Police took him to the Niles police station and said he was uncooperative and refused to speak or complete the booking process until just after 1:45 p.m., when he ultimately spoke, complied and was released on a D-bond. He was also cited for improper lane usage. His court date is May 29.
