Cell Phone Theft At Restaurant
A 21-year-old female had her cell phone stolen from a local restaurant and fraudulent charges were made on the account. No suspects have been arrested.

A theft of a cell phone was reported to Niles Police. The incident happened when a 21-year-old female from Glenview was dining at a restaurant in the 8400 block of Golf Road, she got up to get a drink from the self-serve drink station. She left her cell phone on the table. When she returned with her beverage, the phone was gone.
The incident occurred on July 31 at approximately 8:30 p.m. The Victim was not sure that she had her phone with her, but when she returned home and searched, she realized that it had been taken from her table while she went to get the drink. The victim went to the restaurant and they did not have her phone nor any surveillance video of the incident. She cancelled the cell phone service at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 31, 2012.
She discovered that the unknown offender had made five charges to the cell phone account for a total of $15Â dollars by purchasing movies and apps for the phone, prior to her cancelling the service. The estimated value of the phone was $200.
