Driver Follows 11-Year-Old Suspiciously; Police Investigating

Morton Grove police are investigating an incident Sunday evening in which the driver of a van followed an 11-year-old girl, switching directions when she did to tail her.

The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. near Dempster and School streets. The van was a dark-colored Ford Transit-type of van, police said. 

Initial investigative efforts by the Morton Grove Police Department indicate that the van pulled into the path of the girl as she was walking near an alley, the department said in a statement.   

She changed directions and the vehicle then changed directions, following her as she ran down Dempster and hid.  She was able to get help from adults as the van left the area travelling west on Dempster.
