Driver Gives Passenger Reckless Ride

Resident arrested in Orland Park for giving friend a ride in trunk.

Christopher Cruz, 20, 8500 block of Fernald Avenue in Morton Grove, was charged with reckless conduct in Orland Park for giving his friend a ride in the carโ€™s airless trunk. Orland Park Police said they stopped Cruzโ€™s car in the 16700 block of Mallow Ridge Drive in Orland Park, a few blocks from where they saw it set off, and found a sweaty 17-year-old in the trunk.

According to the report, the car had five other passengers, and Cruz told police he didnโ€™t have room for his friend and he agreed because they were only traveling a few blocks. The boy was not reported injured. Cruz was also charged with no rear plate light and unlawful number of passengers.

Passengers Alexander L. Devalle, 20, of the 3800 block of Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, and Elton A. Jacobson, 20, of the 7800 block of Foster Street in Morton Grove, were charged with underage consumption of alcohol.
