Driver Pleads Guilty in 2009 Fatal Crash That Took Morton Grove Resident's Life

A Chicago man was sentenced to six years in prison in a car crash that killed two passengers in Park Ridge and that authorities had said was alcohol-related. Ibrahim Yaro, 38, was charged in October 2009 with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in a two-vehicle crash at Oakton Street and Riverside Drive in Park Ridge, records show. Two passengers in Yaro’s car —Younan Chalabi, 25, of Des Plaines, and Christine Merza, 37, of Morton Grove — died at area hospitals.
