Learn To Appeal Your Property Taxes At Seminar Tonight

• Are your property taxes too high? Of course. Officials are hosting a Niles Township property tax seminar tonight from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion Memorial Civil Center, 6140 W. Dempster, Morton Grove. They'll go over how to appeal your taxes. But be aware they don't set the taxes; for that, you need to go to your local school board and village board meetings and speak up. Also: come early. A similar event in Niles in March was mobbed. There's overflow parking in the forest preserve to the west.

• "Women's Rights in Islam: An International Perspective" sounds fascinating. Tahera Ahmad, a Morton Grover who is chaplain at Northwestern University, presents this program, part of Muslim Journeys Bookshelf Grant, at 7 p.m. at the Morton Grove Library.

• Love. Is it all romance and glamour? Or is it caring for a spouse when they become ill and/or disabled? The Oscar-nominated French film 'Amour' explores this territory, with acclaimed results. The NSSC screens it, with croissant sandwiches for lunch, at 12:30 p.m.
