Masked Man Robs $1,000 From Niles Restaurant
Arrests are merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

On Aug. 23 just before 3 p.m., a witness told Niles police that while in the employee breakroom of a restaurant in the 7500 block of Harlem Avenue, he saw on the video monitor a man reaching through the drive-through window to steal a plastic bag containing $1,000 cash from a drawer below the cash register.
When the employee attempted to stop him, he fled eastbound through the drive-through lane and hopped the fence into a residential neighborhood, then got into the passenger side of a Chevrolet. The restaurant owner arrived and showed police video of the incident. The suspect is described as a male, 20-30 years of age, who was wearing a white mask and gloves. Police are investigating.
