Someone laid a bouquet of red carnations at the base of the flagpole at Morton Grove's Fire Station Number 4 Wednesday, September 11. It was a quiet tribute to those who lost their lives on this day in 2001 at Ground Zero and elsewhere, including many brave firefighters.
The fire station lowered its flag to half-mast, as did the Niles Fire Department station at Dempster and Cumberland.
