New Dunkin Donuts Opens on Milwaukee Avenue
The 24-hour donut shop is located at 8080 N. Milwaukee Ave.

A new 24-hour donut shop will celebrate its grand opening this Friday, Sept. 30. The 2,600-square-foot Dunkin Donuts at 8080 N. Milwaukee Ave. will be welcomed by Niles Mayor Andrew Przybylo, village and chamber of commerce officials and Dunkin’ Donuts owners and managers, according to Journal & Topics. The shop, located between Oakton and Monroe streets, held a soft opening Monday, Sept. 12.
Journal & Topics reports:
The new donut shop is only accessible off Milwaukee to southbound traffic. When Niles plan commissioners gave preliminary approval for the project in August, they mandated only right turns in and right turns out of the parking lot would be allowed.
The shop has a second driveway access point off Oriole Avenue, but the street is a one-way heading onto Milwaukee.
In spite of the traffic limitations put in place to limit traffic congestion on Milwaukee, Merchant expects business to be brisk. He said about 78% of that business would come during the morning rush hours between about 6 and 9 a.m. with the vast majority of drivers heading southbound on Milwaukee. Daily traffic counts for both directions of Milwaukee Avenue in Niles are 32,300 a day, village officials say.
