Niles Library Halts Fines for Overdue Books

Bring in canned food to the Niles Public Library from Sept. 1-15 to clear fines and support area food pantries.

From Sept. 1-15, Niles Public Library patrons will be able to remove fines from their accounts in the Food for Fines program. Bring in non-perishable food items in exchange for any outstanding fines from a library account. Each canned or packaged food item donated, $1 will be deducted from the card. Donations are capped at $50 per household.

All food donations will benefit the Maine Township, Niles Township, and Niles Family Services Food Pantries. Patrons with accounts in good standing may donate items, too.
