Police Blotter: Hit and Run, DUI and Driving Way Too Fast

The police department has provided the following reports. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

"Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty," according to a statement from police Cmdr. Michael Fujara. All information comes directly from police reports.

Suspended driverโ€™s license - Ali Uzun, 22, of Chicago, was stopped for traffic violations and was found to be driving on a suspended driverโ€™s license. She was given a court date of Sept. 28.

Hit and Run DUI โ€“ Police arrested Juan J. Yancour, 50, of Chicago, after he was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident while driving under the influence at the intersection of Oakton Street and Lehigh Avenue. He was given a court date of Sept. 15.

Driving way too fast - Police arrested Nicholas Chmielewski, 20, of Chicago, for driving 40 MPH over the speed limit near the intersection of Merrill Avenue and Dempster Street. He was given a court date of Sept. 28.

Possession of drug paraphernalia - Patrick Mcdermott, 19, of Morton Grove, was stopped for traffic violations at 5700 Theobald Rd. and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. He was given a court date of Sept. 16.
